Our Mission

Hello! We would like to welcome you to our FourLeaf Thrift Store "It's Not Trash!" Donation Bin launch page!

We are locally owned and operated in the heart of Long Island, NY.

With over 20 years of experience, we have specialized knowledge in finding the best way to extend an item's lifespan. Weather it be a broken tv or a pair of gently used shoes - we have paths for each item and make sure it can be used again or parted out and recycled properly.

Far too many times to count, the lifespan of an item is cut short unnecessarily which causes excess waste and product creation. We believe strongly in doing our best to change that and to be a part of making our community a cleaner and healthier place for our future.

We provide a service that helps to reroute trash and significantly lower monthly garbage bills. Having one of our bins at your location provides confidence knowing that someone is looking out for the best interests of your trash. Plus, it's hands-off, easy, free, clean, green and convenient!

We are a for-profit business and take great pride in being able to do what we love while supporting ourselves and helping our world be a

cleaner, healthier place.

How it works!

We provide the "It's Not Trash!" donation bin and collection service absolutely free. Fully permitted and licensed by the town, insured by Hiscox insurance making us 100% responsible. Bin dimensions: (HxWxD) 72" x 42" x 42"
Together we decide where the bin(s) will be placed at your location (typically located near your dumpster in your parking lot).
We provide a no obligation contract created by one of the most well known lawyers in the US that advocate for donation bin rights, Dalton & Tomich PLC. Giving you the right to have the bins removed at any time.
We provide weekly pickups and can increase our pickups at any time upon request - simply message/text/call us and we will be right there to clean up around the bin or increase our pickup frequency to 2, 3 or even 4 times a week if needed. We promise to never leave your area unclean or untidy. Being a local business with a limited number of bins, insures our upmost attention and reliability. Reach us anytime!
What happens to the items collected? Clothing, shoes, used toys, games, tvs and more! We pick up mostly everything (except things that are heavily soiled or unable to be recycled or refurbished, example: an old mattress). We reuse most items and sell them at our local store, FourLeaf Thrift Store. We also take apart broken items and sell the useable parts and recycle the rest. We refurbish and repurpose as much as we possibly can!
Being a for-profit Benefit Corporation, we are able to do things that non-profits are unable to do! We were recognized by the state of NY for providing extensive evidence that we provide a service that helps the world around us; allowing us to be a registered "Benefit Corporation". We can grow as we see fit and give back to whomever or whatever we like; allowing us freedom to advocate for Long Island.
We keep our process transparent by showing how much waste we save from our local landfills, how we give back to those in need locally and by providing workshops and classes to educate our community on recycling, refurbishing and the benefits of reusing. We also provide vouchers for those who need it, host food drives, work with local scouts and more! Going “Green” means taking measures to become environmentally conscious in your everyday decisions. Doing even a small part every day to reduce harm to the environment. By having one of our bins at your location, you are taking a small step and encouraging others to take another step with you.

An average apartment dumpster is around 8-10 yards! That holds 96 bags to 5+ tons of total waste per month! Wow! Now, just imaging all the waste you could save from your local landfill!

Saves Money

When paying for waste removal there is one constant truth; where there are people residing, the waste keeps coming and someone has to pay to get it cleaned up! Oversized furniture and bulk items may even require special removal. Whether you have one dumpster or have many - Garbage removal can be very expensive!

One of our "It's Not Trash" bins holds 16 bushels (1 full yard) of items + overflow! So in one month, depending on the frequency of pickups; we could save you a lot!

FREE & Tax Deductible #freeservice

We make it as easy as possible to have a bin at your location. Tax deduction paperwork can be provided upon request. We deliver, provide all signage and contracts, manage delivery placement if the bin(s) and schedule pick-ups around your schedule. No fixed contract - if you want it moved, we will come and remove it.
